About

Cathy Nelson ArkleAs long as I can remember I had to have somewhere to release my creative outbursts. It started with finger paints and crayons on the walls, myself, or anything that would hold still long enough for me to alter it.  Well guess what… I am still altering everything I can, only now I am using more sophisticated tools.

My cooking and art inspirations come from as far away as my travels across the globe and as close as my kitchen. Over the last 29 years I have been working as a graphic artist, sometimes at home and sometimes for the major networks (NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX & ESPN). I have had the privilege of working on the Academy Awards, Super Bowls, as well as the Olympic Games in four countries. Along the way, I collected eight Emmys in the field of Art, Design & Graphics in the sports and entertainment field. As a creative art director I pioneered the layout of a newspaper publication called Real Life & Times. As an artist, I have created and illustrated a children’s book called “Being Grown-Up is Not What I Thought”. In addition, I have also traveled to third world countries on adventurous humanitarian trips.

I just finished taking Pro Chef 2 Courses at New School of Cooking in Culver City… and ready for the next adventure in my life.

….and then she paused for thought.
